What This Covers
This policy describes how this site handles information. TL;DR: I don’t sell your data and I keep data collection minimal.
What I Collect
- Server/Edge logs: Because the site is fronted by Cloudflare and backed by GitHub Pages (proxied via a Worker), standard logs may include IP address, user-agent, country, and request metadata for security/performance.
- You contacting me: If you email or message me, I’ll see whatever you send (and any headers/metadata your provider includes).
- Comments (if enabled): The blog may use Utterances, which stores comments as GitHub Issues under a public repo. Your GitHub username and comment are public there and governed by GitHub’s terms.
Cookies & Analytics
- I don’t use Google Analytics or any marketing trackers.
- Cloudflare may set cookies necessary for performance or security (e.g., bot management). See Cloudflare’s documentation for details.
- Utterances/GitHub may set cookies when you interact with the comment widget.
Use of Information
- Operate the site, improve security/performance, prevent abuse, and respond to your messages.
- I do not sell or rent personal information.
Sharing
- Service providers only: Cloudflare (edge delivery/security) and GitHub (origin hosting) necessarily process requests to serve the site.
- Otherwise, I don’t share personal info unless required by law or to protect rights/safety.
Retention
- I don’t keep my own analytics database. Cloudflare/GitHub may retain edge or origin logs for limited periods under their policies.
- Emails or DMs you send may be retained as long as reasonably necessary to respond or maintain records.
Your Choices
- Don’t use comments if you don’t want a public GitHub identity tied to a post.
- You can request I delete emails you’ve sent me (unless I’m legally required to keep them).
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. I keep the surface area small and rely on reputable providers; no website is perfectly secure.
Children
This site isn’t directed to children under 13. If you believe I’ve received data from a child, contact me for removal.
Changes
I may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here.
